Berlin’s chief diplomat Annalena Baerbock (Greens) felt the anger of the Ukrainian head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyj directly in Kiev on Monday. The ruptured conversation fits with the undiplomatic behavior that Ukraine often displays towards Germany. In a way, one can understand the anger.(…) Nonetheless, Germany is committed to Ukraine, which is already evident from the fact that Baerbock has traveled there for the second time in just three weeks and even visited the contact line in the east. The Federal Government is now actively committed to peace in Europe. Ukraine and its ambassador in Berlin would therefore be well advised to slow down in their criticism of Berlin.
