English is not only the most commonly spoken language in the world and the international language of tourism par excellence, but is now also the working language used in many domestic companies on a daily basis.

Against this background, the MCI from autumn 2022 the established bachelor’s degree Corporate management, tourism & leisure industry in addition to the existing offer also as English major an.

“We sense a lively demand for an English-language major, especially among young people at home and from our Austrian tourism companies. This means that international topics can be dealt with more intensively and professors, students and partner universities from all over the world can be involved in the course,” explains MCI Rector Andreas Altmann

The new English-language major not only strengthens internationality, but also offers elective modules on a variety of topics. The latter will also be expanded in the German-language major. In essence, both branches of study offer a clear focus on corporate management, marketing and sustainable tourism and leisure management as well as two compulsory foreign languages. In addition, the 6-semester, business-oriented tourism course offers a compulsory internship in Germany or abroad as well as a semester abroad at one of the numerous international MCI partner universities.

The tourism and leisure industry will continue to be a booming and exciting field of work in the future and offers young people attractive job prospects at home and abroad.
