DB orders 43 new ICE trains | tourism up-to-date


Deutsche Bahn is expanding its fleet of express trains. According to the company, 43 additional trains from the new ICE 3 Neo series worth around 1.5 billion euros have been ordered from the manufacturer Siemens. 30 trains of this type were already ordered in July 2020, the first of which are to be used from December 2022.

According to Bahn, the ICE fleet will grow to around 450 trains by the end of the decade. The daily space available for long-distance passengers will increase by a total of 32,000 seats with the 73 new express trains. The Neo-ICE offers almost 440 seats and reaches a top speed of 320 kilometers per hour.
