BG BAU trade association for the construction industry
At the beginning of the year, companies must transmit the wages, the hours worked by their employees and the number of hours worked to the accident insurance institutions. The reporting period for 2021 ends on February 16, 2022. The trade association for the construction industry (BG BAU) provides tips to ensure that the data can be submitted smoothly.
With the electronic wage statement, the companies report the number of their employees for the past year, the wages paid to them and the hours worked. This also applies to temporary workers, part-time employees or trainees. Companies from the construction and cleaning industries have until February 16 to submit the electronic wage statements for 2021 to the BG BAU.
The transmission takes place via the payroll accounting program or alternatively via the filling-in help sv.net. Before submitting the electronic wage statement, the company must carry out a master data retrieval. The stored company data is compared and the employees are assigned to a hazard pay scale. Evidence is required for wages of up to EUR 78,960.00 per employee. For companies that did not employ any workers or temporary workers in 2021, there is no obligation to report. If in this case a master data retrieval has already been carried out, it must be canceled again as a matter of urgency.
The electronic wage statement is the basis for calculating the contribution to BG BAU. Companies should meet the reporting deadline. Otherwise, the BG BAU may have to estimate the gross wages and base the calculation of the contributions on. In contrast to wages and hazard pay scales, the reported working hours are not used to calculate the accident insurance contribution. However, this information affects the allocation of the company to the respective occupational medicine and safety-related care model.
