Unterfoehring, February 1st, 2022 – It is less than ten months until the highly controversial and heavily criticized FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Sky reporters Stephan Graf and Moritz Lang were there and dealt with the most important topics relating to the major event. A special focus was on the development of the human rights situation – after all, the desert state is heavily criticized for its working conditions, among other things.

Have these actually improved enormously, as Qatar itself claims? In addition to this topic, other global topics – such as sustainability – were also dealt with in the 30-minute documentary.

During their research, Moritz Lang and Stephan Graf encountered many contradictions. Not only has her view of FIFA and the World Cup changed, but also her view of Qatar in particular.

The documentary “Qatar 2022 – The Contradictory Tournament” can be seen on Sky Sport Bundesliga 1 on Thursday at 9 p.m. and on Sky Sport News at 6 p.m. the next day. In addition to the linear TV broadcast, the documentary is on Sky Q as well as on skysport.de and available in the Sky Sport app.
