Under the umbrella of RTL Deutschland, which has been Germany’s leading entertainment company since the beginning of the year following the merger with Gruner + Jahr, another project is being created with “Chefkoch TV – Tasty doesn’t have to be expensive”, with which the company is pushing ahead with its cross-media expansion. Thanks to the cooperation between the TV makers from RTL and the cooking experts from Chefkoch from the Gruner + Jahr publishing house, the leading digital food brand is now getting its own TV format.

The new RTL cooking show brings together the best of two worlds in a creative way. With more than 350,000 recipes and 20 million users every month, Chefkoch knows what Germans put on their tables every day. RTL implements this knowledge in an entertaining broadcasting concept with a playful character. The ingredients: ambitious hobby chefs in competition mode who prepare their own creative recipes with little budget as well as an “award-winning” jury duo with the two top chefs Sarah Henke and Tarik Rose. The new show will be moderated by 2-star restaurateur Alexander Herrmann.

“Chefkoch TV – Tasty doesn’t have to be expensive” will be on RTL from February 28th, Monday to Friday at 11:00 a.m. At the same time, Chefkoch offers its own theme world for the show on its site, where the community can get all the recipes and information about the candidates, moderator, jury and the show.
