The use of artificial intelligence has led to impressive developments in all areas of science and society. Further improvements are constantly being researched. As part of the “KI Lecture” at the LMU, Thomas Seidl, Professor of Computer Science at the LMU and Director of the Munich Center for Machine Learning, will speak about current developments and challenges in the application of artificial intelligence methods.

In his lecture Thomas Seidl selected practical questions of machine learning, in particular for the preparation and analysis of data required for automated learning. He gives insights into the research at the Munich Center for Machine Learning and will go into the methodological foundations and the development of new technologies in image and speech recognition.

The lecture will take place as part of the eight-part virtual “AI Lectures”, in which researchers at the LMU from various disciplines will shed light on the many facets of artificial intelligence, its effects and possible applications across the sciences.
