The physical trade fair part of the cooperation trade fair KOOP 2022 from February 19 to 22, 2022 is cancelled. In view of the drastically increasing incidence figures every day, the KOOP partners expert, EURONICS and Messe Berlin have decided to take this step in close consultation and are thus fulfilling their overall responsibility.

The preparations for the physical fair are in full swing, but the protection and health of exhibitors, specialist dealers and employees has top priority for the KOOP partners, which has also led to the current decision to cancel the physical part of the fair. After a number of internal considerations, the decision was made not to hold the presence fair in Berlin due to the unpredictable overall situation and the very dynamic development of the incidence figures. Even if a physical meeting would have been the preferred event format for everyone involved after almost two years of the pandemic, this was no longer acceptable in view of the current incidences. But with a view to the experiences of the last two years, the organizers are sure that a virtual event with comprehensive communication in the context of workshops and trade fair offers will work successfully as an alternative.

At the same time, the cooperation partners are looking forward to the IFA from September 2nd to 6th, 2022 in Berlin with confidence and assume that they will be able to catch up on the personal meeting there this year. And the next date for the KOOP cooperation fair has already been set: KOOP 2023 is to take place in Berlin from February 18 to 21, 2023. All cooperation partners are confident that the pandemic will allow for a face-to-face event in a year and that the KOOP can then be held in the originally planned format.

“Of course we are annoyed that we can’t hold our presence trade fair KOOP in Berlin again”, says dr Stefan Müller, CEO of expert SE. “With all the passion and enthusiasm for the joint event, the disappointment among all partners is very great, but the overall responsibility that we partners of KOOP bear towards all participants leaves us no other option under the given general conditions.”

Benedict Kober, Spokesman of the Management Board of EURONICS Deutschland eG, adds: “We very much regret that we cannot welcome our members and industrial partners to a personal exchange at the KOOP 2022. But our intensive preparatory work of the last few months should not be in vain: As part of a digital KOOP 2022, we will still be together as planned do business with our members and industry partners and position ourselves optimally for the coming months.”
