“SWR Jungle Tour Online”

The “SWR Jungle Tour” goes online. With this new multimedia application, students in grades three and four can acquire media knowledge and learn to reconsider their own media use in an age-appropriate way. During the tour, the children land directly in the television studio of the “Tigerentenclub”, meet the moderators of SWR3, experience how radio and news are made and discover how noises are made in the radio play studio. The active help of young users is required: They unravel mysteries, solve tricky puzzles about media and fix what the wild jungle animals have messed up.

Why look in?

Low-threshold content for children of primary school age – also suitable as teaching material for teachers.

The Arctic Council has just met there, led by Swedish Foreign Minister Elsa Engström, to sign a climate protection agreement for the Arctic that will also ban oil drilling. Elsa tries to save the negotiations. Liv Hermansson from the Swedish secret service takes over the search for the kidnapped persons parallel to the Danish investigations. She finds out that a huge arctic oil field has been discovered that has aroused greed. The ballet stars Marcia Haydée, Birgit Keil and Egon Madsen celebrate an emotional reunion with their shared history. Four more documentaries are made available again and complement the perspectives on the “Stuttgart ballet miracle”: “Birgit Keil – a life dedicated to dance”, “Dancing beyond … Eric Gauthier”, “Marcia Haydée – seduction to dance” Friedemann Vogel – embodiment of dance”.

On December 19, 2016, a truck crashed into the Christmas market on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz. 13 people die, dozens are injured. The assassin, a supporter of the so-called “Islamic State”, had apparently been known to be a threat for a long time. Birgit Tanner and Simone Schillinger accompany the research of a team of ARD journalists in the “Breitscheidplatz” podcast. They are convinced that the attack and its background have not yet been fully clarified. They trace the path – paved with journalistic breakthroughs and setbacks. It’s about the manipulation of files, covering up official errors and systemic failure. A podcast in six parts.

Why look in?

On the trail of journalistic research – for anyone looking for background information.
