Cambridge, England (ots/PRNewswire)

Darktrace, a global leader in AI for cybersecurity, announced today that one of the world’s largest airlines has signed a major deal with Darktrace to use its self-learning AI technology to defend against cyberattacks.

The international aviation company, which operates nearly a thousand flights a day to over 100 destinations, uses Darktrace Enterprise Immune System and Antigena Network to protect the company from advanced threats – from the cloud to the corporate network. It leverages Darktrace’s AI to counter fast-moving, ongoing attacks autonomously and at machine speed without disrupting business operations.

The aviation sector has long been a target for cyber attackers as airlines hold vast amounts of sensitive data – be it passenger manifest data of value to the world’s intelligence agencies or high-value transaction data that can be exploited by criminals. With unprecedented travel disruptions caused by the pandemic, the risk of fraud and abuse has never been greater. The acceleration of contactless boarding and other digital services has created another layer of risk as attackers seek new ways of entering one of the world’s most security-sensitive sectors.

“Darktrace is pleased to partner with this major airline to ensure it is always protected in today’s world of advanced threats,” said Poppy Gustafsson OBE, Darktrace CEO targeting technologies that are so critical to their business operations. In this context, the role of AI in containing and combating these attacks is more important than ever.”
