The corona incidence in Berlin has risen significantly again. According to the data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) from early Wednesday morning (January 12, 2022), it was 856.4.
Nationwide corona incidence around 400
On Tuesday the value was 737.2. The number indicates how many new corona infections were registered per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days. In the days after Christmas the value was still below 300. The seven-day incidence nationwide is 407.5. Berlin has a very high incidence value in a country comparison. According to the RKI data, it is only higher in Bremen at 1296.8.
Over 8,800 new cases reported
The number of new infections reported in Berlin is 8862. Since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020, the number of detected infections has risen to 373 566. The RKI registered two more deaths related to Covid-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4045 people have been proven to have died from or with the virus in Berlin.
