More variety in face-to-face or distance learning: This is made possible by a successful pilot project by Cornelsen, which provides interactive exercises for mathematics lessons in North Rhine-Westphalia – for the Logineo or Moodle learning management systems and coordinated with the Parallelo, Dreifach series of textbooks, as required Math and Foundations of Mathematics.

Many schools are currently using the free trial phase and are already very convinced of the concept: “Thanks to the application, I no longer have to spend a lot of time discussing the exercises and have more time to teach,” is an initial feedback from test users, for example, who are also connected to Cornelsen textbooks praise: “Because the tasks are directly coordinated with the textbook, I can absolutely trust the content.”

Cornelsen is also very satisfied with the way the tests have gone so far: “The advantages are obvious: the automatic correction with direct feedback relieves the teachers and, thanks to the different levels, we take all students with us,” says Cornelsen’s Chief Didactic Officer Frank Thalhofer. Since the exercises are browser-based, the widest possible range of use is guaranteed – from tablets to PCs / laptops. The links to the textbooks used mean that the exercises can be seamlessly integrated into the classroom without any problems.

“Then there is the interoperability of our exercises, through which we can use both Logineo and Moodle as a learning management system,” continues Frank Thalhofer. “We are convinced that curricular-oriented learning courses that are made accessible to schools via central learning management systems are an important component in enabling teaching that is conducive to learning. We want to expand that even further.”
