NRW Prime Minister Wüst: Corona law of the federal government can “take some poison out of the debate”
Dusseldorf. Hendrik Wüst, Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia and current MPK Chairman, urged the Federal Government in his first interview in the NRW election year to submit its own draft law on general vaccination requirements to the Bundestag. “We shouldn’t prolong valuable time in which unprotected people can get seriously ill with COVID-19,” says Wüst of the “Neue Westfälischen” (Wednesday edition) published in Bielefeld. The impression should not be created that tactics and timeliness are being played on such a sensitive issue as compulsory vaccination, according to Wüst. A draft law could “take some poison out of the debate” and certainly contribute to social pacification, said the NRW head of government. In addition, Wüst does not rule out the possibility of the compulsory vaccination being lifted after a while. The Bundestag can repeal or limit any law that it has passed. “I’m open to any variation that makes a quick decision more likely,” said Wüst.
