In order to continue to meet the growing need for mobility, the need to meet climate targets and the demand for affordable mobility in the future, technology openness is required.

Which drive systems could play which role in future mobility in order to meet these requirements is the core topic of this year’s 43rd International Vienna Motor Symposium 2022, which will take place from 27.-29. April is planned as a face-to-face event in the Vienna Hofburg.

The speakers in the high-ranking plenary sections are Luca De Meo and Philippe Brunet, Renault SA, Wolf-Henning Scheider, ZF Group, F. Peter Mitterbauer, Miba AG, Markus Schäfer, Daimler AG, Andreas Gorbach, Daimler Truck AG, Frank Hiller, Deutz AG , and Thomas Ulbrich, Volkswagen AG.

As always, the core program consists of groundbreaking lectures with a focus on reducing CO2 and emissions. The drive systems range from new combustion engines to the step-by-step electrification of the drive train to electric vehicles with batteries or hydrogen as an energy storage device.

In addition to the ballroom and ceremony hall with 7 plenary and 40 specialist lectures, 25 lecture videos are also shown in parallel in a so-called virtual hall in the Vienna Hofburg. The speakers are on site and available to answer questions from the participants of the symposium.

Different technological approaches to achieve the common goal will be presented for the first time in a panel discussion with representatives from industry and science.

A continuously accessible trade exhibition from the fields of the automotive industry, suppliers and development service providers complements the lecture program.
