Pedro Castillo, President of Peru, sent greetings and wishes for a speedy recovery to the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), after the Mexican president tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.
Pedro Castillo wrote on his Twitter account:
“I express my best wishes and speedy recovery for President @lopezobrador”.
Castillo He accompanied his message with a photo with López Obrador.
“A lot of strength for him, for his family and for the brother Mexican people. With hope and resistance from our #PatriaGrande, we are together in the fight against COVID-19”added the Peruvian head of state, who a few days ago received the booster of the vaccine against the pandemic.
Unlike Peru, where the authorities applied new restrictions and measures before the start of the third wave of infections, AMLO commented before the end of the year holidays that the restrictions were not necessary.
“There is controversy about whether or not we meet because of this new variant (omicron), that we do it carefully, but that we do try to meet with our loved ones, who are very important to see each other, it is something beautiful to meet,” said López Obrador last December 22.
Last Saturday, Mexico broke the record for daily infections by reaching 30,671, up from 28,953 on August 18, 2021.
Added to these figures on Friday was the overcoming of 300,000 official deaths from COVID-19, data that consolidate the country as the fifth in the world in absolute numbers of deaths from this disease.
AMLO reported on Monday, through his social networks, that was infected, with mild symptoms and will remain in isolation, doing office work and virtual communication.
