The training company Büchmann Seminare KG is relocating one of its training locations from Berlin to Leipzig. In the future, senior assistants will be trained in Leipzig – in the Leipziger Hof gallery hotel – in addition to the locations in Kiel, Hamburg, Leverkusen, Düsseldorf and Nuremberg from 2022 onwards. www.senioren-assistentin.de – .
“In the up-and-coming metropolis of Saxony, further training companies will find excellent framework conditions in terms of infrastructure and support for participants,” says managing director Ute Büchmann. In addition, Saxony has brought a new version of the state ordinance on the way in 2022, which enables independent senior assistants to settle relief benefits according to the Social Security Code in the amount of 1,500 euros per senior per year with the care funds. “Berlin has not yet considered this step,” says Büchmann, who founded the company in 2007 in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein.
The senior assistants are independent service providers who help senior citizens to stay in their home environment for as long as possible, maintain social contacts and cope with the challenges of everyday life. “This is a service that, beyond physical care and domestic support, focuses on the social aspect of everyday life in the domestic area of the elderly,” explains Büchmann. The mere presence of senior assistants helps in most cases to drive away the loneliness. In addition to meaningful leisure activities and exercises on fitness and healthy nutrition, the assistants are also trained in the timely detection of criminal gimmicks such as the grandchildren’s trick and the assertion of social claims via long-term care insurance.
Since many interested parties who want to work as an independent service provider in the future come from the group of dependent employees, the training imparts not only the necessary know-how in social support but also knowledge of company formation and operation. Free start-up help through the placement portal – www.die-senioren-assistenten.de -, on which the prospective service providers can present themselves, and effective support after the seminar is completed.
The almost 15-year-old company has so far trained over 1,800 people interested in senior assistance under the label “Plöner Modell”. It was only two years ago that Büchmann was awarded a prize by the Körber Foundation for its start-up initiative.
