The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection has a new head in Robert Habeck. NABU President Jörg-Andreas Krüger comments on its opening climate policy balance sheet at the beginning of the year as follows:

“Applied to football, one could speak of a change of coach and a new game system. After a decade on the defensive, climate protection should finally take offensive action in the future The federal government cannot simply fail it. The announced reform of the Renewable Energy Sources Act including higher expansion targets can now be implemented as well as the solar roof requirement. The decisive factor for the success of the new federal government’s climate policy will be how consistent the announced immediate climate protection program in the others as well During the transformation of the mobility, heating and agriculture sectors, there must now be no open flank in order not to tear the 1.5 degree limit. Immediately effective measures such as a speed limit would also help, including that Lufthansa 18,000 must perform almost empty flights to take-off and Keeping landing rights must stop the federal government. ”

After Economy and Climate Minister Robert Habeck, Environment Minister Steffi Lemke and Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir will also speak out with government statements this week.
