Energy prices must not become a social issue
Regarding the draft bill for a heating cost subsidy law 2022, which became known yesterday, the building and housing policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group, Jan-Marco Luczak, explains:
“People are increasingly feeling the burden of rising energy prices. Relieving housing benefit recipients with a one-off heating cost subsidy and socially cushioning the rising prices is therefore the right thing to do. Overall, housing benefit must be dynamic and reflect the increased heating costs.
The galloping energy prices hit all households. In the case of transfer service recipients, this is taken into account in the cost of accommodation anyway and economically strong households are not thrown off track. As a Union, our focus is therefore also, and in particular, on people with middle incomes and families. We must not leave them alone, they too must be relieved. In the long term, energy prices must not become a social issue. ”
