Workers group of the Union parliamentary group elects the board for the next four years

In today’s meeting, the workers’ group of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group has chosen its executive committee for the 20th electoral term. Axel Knoerig from Kirchdorf / Lower Saxony was unanimously confirmed by the members. The chairman Axel Knoerig explains:

“I am very pleased that the members of the employee group have expressed their trust in me. With the new team, we are effectively preparing for the challenges of the coming years. In addition to coping with the corona pandemic, it is particularly important to be human-friendly and at the same time efficient To develop framework conditions for the changing world of work of the future.

We want to inspire confidence in the future among employees and take away their fears, for example of digitization. We want to take advantage of the opportunities that arise from digitization. We can only achieve acceptance for the necessary changes if we also address the associated risks in a credible manner. Our goal is to take everyone with us into the digital age and to support people with all our strength in their professional changes and advancement.

Digital work must enable prosperity and at the same time time for the family and must not be linked to poverty biographies. In times of mobile work, home office and desk sharing, modern occupational health and safety also play a central role. Here it is important to achieve the right balance between flexible work arrangements, especially to reconcile family and work, and protection from constant availability and excessive demands on employees. ”

Axel Knoerig, born in Bassum (Diepholz district) in 1967, has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2009. After studying politics with a focus on communal sciences, he worked as a consultant for public tasks at the Deutsche Telekom headquarters in Bonn, then as a project manager at the DeTeSys headquarters at the Berlin office and since 2000 as a marketing specialist in the capital representation of Deutsche Telekom AG. He has also been Deputy Chairman of the CDA (Christian Democratic Workers) since 2019.

The CDU / CSU parliamentary group represents the mainstream parties in parliament and is committed to freedom, cohesion and personal responsibility.
