The Alpha travel agencies, which used to operate under the Neckermann label, want to complete the rebranding under the Schauinsland umbrella in 2022. An important intermediate step has just been taken: In Lennestadt-Altenhundem in the Sauerland, the 150th office of the cooperation has now received a new external appearance with the travel agency “Ihr Reiseglück Lennestadt”.
The new branding “Schauinsland-Reisen Partner” is intended to signal reliability, presence and “last but not least, confidence”, according to the Alpha headquarters. The offices can certainly be confident: Schauinsland has been one of the climbers among package tour operators for years and has continued to gain market share during the pandemic with good travel agency service.
Start-up in Corona times
Travel agency owner Christine Weigelt is correspondingly satisfied: “We are a young, committed and new team and focus on the essentials – good and honest advice in modern, light-flooded rooms in the center of Lennestadt”. The new appearance fits perfectly with the company’s own philosophy and the furnishing concept of the office.
In contrast to most of the currently 650 Alpha travel agencies, the agency in Lennestadt has no Neckermann past: Christine Weigelt and her partner Sabine Homrighausen set up their office in the middle of the pandemic. In doing so, they filled a void that another agency had left in Lennestadt.
So far, they have been extremely satisfied with joining Alpha: The support from headquarters is excellent and very personal. And especially in the start-up phase, “they always had an open ear for us,” reports Sabine Homrighausen.
New brand identity completed in autumn
Corona temporarily slowed down the cooperation’s rebranding project. “This year things picked up again,” reports Britta von Coburg, Head of Marketing & Sales Service at Alpha. The redesign of the 150th travel agency gives courage to tackle the next stage with renewed vigor.
The aim is to have all existing and newly added partner offices appear in a new look by the end of the financial year in autumn 2022. “Then the travel agency’s branding as Schauinsland-Reisen partner is perfect,” said Alpha boss Albin Loidl happily.
Two distribution channels
The alpha cooperation is one of the major tourism sales units in Germany. Half of it is owned by the tour operator Schauinsland-Reisen and half by Raiffeisen-Tours RT-Reisen GmbH from Burghausen. The cooperation center offers its members, among other things, purchasing benefits through framework agreements, commission benefits, support with marketing and sales promotion as well as an extensive technology portfolio.
