Organizers extend their flex options | current tourism

The latest developments in the matter of Corona have again led to a reluctance to book among customers. In order to give them as much flexibility and security as possible, numerous organizers have extended their flex tariffs. We have summarized the important changes of the last few weeks for you.

Alltours

Alltours is continuing the “Flexible booking” campaign for the current winter season and the summer season 2022. The tour operator advertises that customers can continue to book their vacation flexibly and without financial risk. Customers who book an Alltours classic trip (including individual trips) by January 31, 2022 with a departure by April 30, 2022 can rebook or cancel free of charge up to seven days before departure. For trips with departure between May 1 and October 31, 2022, the right to free cancellation applies up to 21 days before departure, rebooking is possible up to 14 days before the start of the trip.

The service does not cost customers any extra fees.

Ameropa

Until the end of March 2022, Ameropa is offering the bookable Flex Rate for departures up to October 31, 2022. This allows trips to be rebooked or canceled up to 14 days before arrival. The price is based on the total price and starts at 29 euros per booking. What is new is that the flex rate can now also be added up to three days after booking. The tariff is commissioned at 20 percent – both for normal travel and for cancellation. The protection can be taken out for package trips from hotels and trains, city trips and vacation trips including holiday homes and amusement parks as well as individual tours around Switzerland. Additional services such as tickets, musicals and arrangements for Christmas and New Year’s Eve are also covered by the flex rate.

ASI Reisen

The specialist has introduced a new, refundable Flex tariff. Travel agencies can choose between two prices in the booking section of the ASI travel agency network – with and without a flex tariff. This enables you to flexibly rebook or cancel up to 31 days before departure without giving reasons.

In the event of cancellation, the entire travel price will be refunded. In the case of a rebooking, the advertised processing fees and charges do not apply. The flex tariff is paid for travel agencies in the same way as the basic commission.

Bentour

In connection with the flex tariffs, the specialist has extended its tree campaign. For every booking with the Flex carefree tariff by January 31, Bentour adds a tree for the Bentour forest. This year the provider donated over 14,000 trees. The Flex tariff enables customers to rebook or cancel free of charge up to 14 days before departure. For bookings with Edelweiss Air, the deadline is 22 days. The Flex carefree offer costs 39 euros per full-paying guest and can be booked in addition to every booking – regardless of whether it is a package tour, hotel-only or flight-only.

Gebeco

The study trip specialist has extended its flexible booking conditions until the end of March 2022. Bookings received by this date can be changed or canceled free of charge up to 60 days before the start of the trip – regardless of the departure date, the organizer informs. If there is a positive Corona-PCR test within 72 hours before departure, guests can also cancel free of charge.

With the extension of the flexible booking conditions, the aim is to offer guests “the greatest possible flexibility and security for worry-free travel planning in 2022” in a “very turbulent time”, explains Managing Director Michael Knapp.

Intrepid

The adventure travel specialist has adjusted its flexible booking conditions. Bookings are reserved for up to five days without a deposit. An Intrepid tour can be rebooked to another tour at no charge up to 28 days prior to departure. The deposit can be transferred to an alternative trip or left as personal credit indefinitely. Payment of the full travel price is only due 28 days prior to departure. In the case of a Covid-19 illness of the traveler or of Covid-19-related official travel restrictions, the trip can be canceled up to the day of departure. After submitting a medical certificate, 100 percent of the payments already made will be credited to the next Intrepid trip (with no expiration date).

LMX

The Leipziger have adapted the permanent flex brands of the dynamic tour operators LMX Touristik and LMX International to the market conditions. A classic down payment of 25 percent is due instead of the usually higher down payment for X products. In addition, the products can be rebooked up to 15 days before departure for a fee of 25 euros per person. “We are currently working flat out on an option of up to three days,” says CCO Mario Krug. In the event of cancellation, the cancellation fee of 25 euros will be deducted from the down payment immediately returned to the customer and retained. Travel agencies continue to receive a 50 percent commission on this fee.

Olimar

The Portugal specialist continues to offer customers the option of booking a flex fee for 30 euros. With this, trips can be rebooked or canceled once up to 21 days before the start of the trip free of charge. Until further notice, this applies to all new bookings with a travel date up to October 31, 2022. “This gives customers security and flexibility, and nothing stands in the way of booking a trip for 2022 early,” says Head of Sales Markus Zahn.

Vtours

The organizer has improved the booking conditions for the Flex “Fixe 50” tariff. Most important innovation: The deadline for a free rebooking or cancellation has been shortened to 15 days before departure. According to the company, this is valid for all package tours and hotel bookings of the tour operator brand VTO. From the 14th day, staggered cancellation conditions apply in accordance with the valid terms and conditions.

The tariff can be booked at Vtours at no extra charge. However, the customer pays a fixed deposit of 50 euros, which is retained as a processing fee in the event of a cancellation or rebooking. Another new feature is that this sum can be transferred to a new booking of an alternative travel offer up to six months after the cancellation date.

VTO offers in travel agencies that are marked as optional bookings can also be canceled free of charge up to 72 hours after booking.
