Explorer gets Sascha Büsseler | current tourism

The former Thomas Cook manager Sascha Büsseler is the new managing director of the tour operator Explorer, which is part of the AER Ticketgroup. He is responsible for the entire tour operator business under the new name “Explorer World of Travel”. The travel agency sales of the NTRV group, which belongs to the AER and has almost 50 own travel agencies in Germany, is currently the exclusive stationary sales channel for Explorer products.

“With Explorer World of Travel we want to redesign and clearly structure the future of sustainable, individualized package tours,” said NTRV Managing Director Heike Niederberghaus. In addition to the highly qualified reinforcement in management by Sascha Büsseler, this also included new technical and, above all, customer-centered solutions. By merging the tour operator business, synergies will be used in the entire NTRV group.

The portfolio of Explorer World of Travel includes global long-distance travel destinations with product and volume focus on Asia, North America, Africa as well as Australia and New Zealand, organized trips and individual round trips. Rental cars, campers and hotels are also offered.

Sascha Büsseler worked for Thomas Cook for many years. There he was responsible for long-distance travel and, from 2017, for the entire product and yield area in Central Europe. Büsseler takes over the management of Explorer from Rüdiger Berger, who is retiring after 30 years with the company. He will continue to advise the organizer.
