In the past few weeks, the BlackFriday.de team collected just under 1,000 Black Friday promotions from retailers and well-known brands from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and published them punctually for the discount day on the shopping portal (www.blackfriday.de). Consumers accepted the service with joy and thanked them with numerous website visits. Overall, the portal counted more than in November 2021 2.5 million visitorswhat one 25% increase compared to the previous year. The portal’s new smartphone app was also very popular on Black Friday. In the days leading up to the shopping event, the app recorded over 50.000 Downloads in the App Store and on Google Play.

The keen to buy bargain hunters once again generated record-breaking sales, especially in the retailers’ online shops. This does not come as a surprise, because a study carried out by BlackFriday.de in collaboration with the market research company Appinio already showed in October that 86 percent of Black Friday shoppers wanted to hunt for bargains on the Internet again this year. In addition, the buyers planned higher budgets for their Black Friday shopping compared to the previous year.

The German Retail Association (HDE) assumes that retailers generated sales of 4.9 billion euros on Black Friday 2021. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 27 percent.

By far the most popular offers on Black Friday 2021 on BlackFriday.de were the deals of Dyson (Up to 100EUR on innovative Dyson technology), Apple (App Store & iTunes gift cards when purchasing selected products), IKEA (#BuyBackFriday: 20% of the buyback price in addition) and the mail order company’s Black Friday sale OTTO (Thousands of deals at greatly reduced prices).

By the way, the bargain hunt is not over yet. On today’s Cyber Monday you can save again at many retailers. There is an overview of all shops and discounts at https://www.blackfriday.de/cyber-monday.
