On Saturday evening, ARD finally heralded the countdown to Christmas 2021 with Florian Silbereisen’s “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”. In addition to guests such as Andrea Berg, Thomas Anders, Andreas Gabalier and the Kelly Family, the pop-classical orchestra Sinfoglesia. The musical ensemble of hit producer Christoph Siemons has already released two successful albums in cooperation with BurdaForward (including FOCUS Online, Bunte.de, TV Spielfilm, Chip.de). A total of 5.99 million people watched the Advent spectacle in front of the television. The program thus achieved a market share of 22.1 percent (source: Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung GfK).
Moderator Florian Silbereisen got the audience in the mood for the most contemplative time of the year at the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights” with the most beautiful Advent and Christmas carols. Sinfoglesia showed their new Christmas hit on the Silbereisen show with “What if the night is holy again”. The song comes from the new album “Der Aufbruch”, a production by BurdaForward Music in cooperation with TELAMO. The song, accompanied by the orchestra, arose from a long-cherished wish of the composer Christoph Siemons to write a Christmas song himself. The result is a piece that takes us into a thought experiment through a crunchy snowy landscape – and designs a better world that is less marked by war and loneliness.
The refrain exudes an indescribable feeling of togetherness and ends with the words “We would all never be alone again, there could be peace in the world”.
Antonia Wilhelm, Head of Music at BurdaForward says: “I am delighted that we can send a sign of hope for so many people with the music and history of Sinfoglesia.”
