FTI throws Ryanair overboard | current tourism

More and more tour operators are no longer green with Ryanair and are ending their cooperation with the low-cost airline for the dynamic packaging of vacation trips. Now FTI has also taken this step.

“We have not been parceling with Ryanair since mid-October 2021,” confirms Richard Brodrecht, head of FTI’s flight department, and refers to technical problems that the Irish carrier is causing the operator. One of the reasons is that the low-cost carrier “actively blocks” semi-automated booking processes and that refund processes at the airline can only be carried out by the end customer.

As an alternative to Ryanair, the Munich-based company is now increasingly relying on the vacation airline Condor and Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings, which have expanded their flight programs for summer 2022. According to Brodrecht, dynamic packages with Ryanair flights were booked annually with a guest volume in the five-digit range, with a focus on Spanish destinations.

Before that, Schauinsland-Reisen and Bentour had already ended their cooperation with the Irish. DER Touristik and TUI, on the other hand, do not or no longer work with Ryanair.
