Despite many annoying topics, constantly changing entry regulations and sometimes still poor accessibility of some tour operators, the current situation is a huge opportunity for travel agencies. Thomas Bösl, head of RTK and Reiseland and spokesman for the largest travel agency alliance in Germany, QTA, is convinced of this.
From his point of view, travel agencies are currently a “navigator through the corona jungle” for many customers. In doing so, they would offer a service that online portals “cannot offer in this form,” Bösl said in an interview with touristik aktuell. Now is the chance to “prove yourself as a specialist retailer”.
Organizers have to “go back to normal”
The prerequisite for this is that the organizers ramp up their travel agency service significantly. For a long time he had understanding for the actions of the organizers, but now they urgently and, above all, have to “switch back to normal” quickly.
Some organizers have already reacted, “others will follow”, the QTA spokesman is convinced and refers to TUI, among others. The market leader announced last week that it would again be offering travel agency hotlines with direct call options at the beginning of January.

Online voting for the Globus Award
From next week, the Globus Award from touristik aktuell will also be about the travel agency service of the organizers. Then we will activate a link on this homepage under which active travel sellers can select those tour operators who, from their point of view, offered a good or perhaps even very good travel agency service during the Corona crisis.
