Katja Westphal takes over the management of business sales at dpa
Katja Westphal (50) is the new Key Account Manager Business in sales at dpa and responsible for corporate customers at Germany’s largest news agency. Companies from industry, trade and the service sector obtain reliable and verified news for their communication departments and commission dpa-Custom Content for content marketing and corporate publishing. Katja Westphal reports to Annegret Willems, Head of Sales Development.

Katja Westphal comes from the Bremen group of companies, team neusta, where she was most recently responsible as key account manager for existing customers and the acquisition of new customers in the field of digitization and IT. She originally trained as a publishing clerk at the Schleswig-Holstein newspaper publisher in Flensburg and then worked for the Lintas advertising agency in Hamburg. Further stations were the multimedia company AS Interactive from Axel Springer, Arvato Mobile from Bertelsmann and the communication project management for the Hamburg Hochbahn light rail project, before moving to Interwall Marketing GmbH of the neusta group in 2012.
Katja Westphal started in her new area of responsibility at the beginning of October and succeeds Reiner Zwick, who switched to the dpa Governance sales team at his own request and is responsible for business with state governments and parliaments as well as parties, authorities and political institutions at the regional level. “I would like to thank Reiner Zwick very much for his excellent work in the further development of our business area and I am sure that he will continue to provide important impetus for the dpa with his expertise”, says Thorsten Matthies.
