BLOCKCHANCE 2021, Europe’s most important blockchain event, this year is all about climate change, regulation and tokenization.

With this in mind, blockchains are welcoming influential opinion leaders such as Joseph Lubin, Co-Founder of Ethereum, Michael Saylor, CEO of Microstrategy, and Raoul Pal, former Goldman Sachs Executive, over 4,000 participants who either attend the event in person (2 G) or the 120 guest speakers can experience virtually.

From December 2nd to 4th the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce will be the venue for BLOCKCHANCE Europe 2021. Hamburg’s First Mayor Peter Tschentscher as well as Senator for Economics Michael Westhagemann and Senator for Finance Andreas Dressel, the most important representatives of the Hamburg Senate, have announced themselves for the opening. Top economist Philipp Sandner, founder of the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC) and member of the fintech advisory team of the German Ministry of Finance, speaks at the conference about crypto funds.

Blockchain and Climate Change: Transparency and Sustainability

Against the background of the UN climate conference and Bitcoin’s exorbitant energy costs, climate change is one of the core topics of BLOCKCHANCE. Pascal van Knijff, CEO of Future of Trust, discusses what contribution blockchain can make to achieving the UN sustainability goals. Katharina Gehra, CEO of Immutable Insights, addresses the connection between blockchain investments and ESG standards. Robin Klemens, Co-Chair of Hyperledger Climate Action and Accounting SIG takes on the topic of Open Climate Accounting Systems.

“Digital transformation is essential to achieve the UN sustainability goals. We can create revolutionary ecosystems with which we can move significantly closer to our vision of a better world”, so Pascal Knijff, CEO von Future of Trust.

Bitcoin and sustainable mining, in tandem controversial topics, are analyzed by Jaime Leverton, CEO of Hut 8 Mining. Lennart Ante from the Blockchain Research Lab and Peter Marggraff, CEO of Crypto Supply, discuss the role of Bitcoin in the global economy.

Regulating Blockchain – Classifying the Possibilities

High-ranking decision-makers from the European Commission, such as Lukas Repa, Senior Policy Officer Fintech and Blockchain and Björn Sören Gigler, Senior Digital Officer, will discuss the regulation of digital technologies. Stephan Breidenbach, Leader Policy and Legal at GermanZero, also deals with the future of digital legislation.

“The variety of speakers at BLOCKCHANCE is unique. Here research and development are brought into direct connection with the real economy, while investors have direct access to business cases”, says Fabian Friedrich, CEO of BLOCKCHANCE.

Tokenization and NFTs – the future of our financial system?

Another focus of BLOCKCHANCE is tokenization and the token-based economy. Yael Tamar, Co-Founder of SolidBlock, sheds light on the connection between tokenization and the future of finance. Konstantin Graf, co-founder of Kollektor, explains the hype surrounding non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Fabian Vogelsteller, blockchain veteran who proposed the token standard that initiated the DeFi movement, will also be on stage in Hamburg.

BLOCKCHANCE 2021 has much more to offer: digital payment models, digital assets and the possibilities of a multi-blockchain universe are further subject areas.

BLOCKCHANCE presents blockchain and new technologies for a positive and sustainable future. Our optimism and curiosity create a community of like-minded people, thought leaders and visionaries. Together with you, we will shape the world of tomorrow. As a founding member of the EU interest group Inatba, BLOCKCHANCE is considered an accelerator hub in the blockchain community. With the support of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and Hamburg’s First Mayor Peter Tschentscher, BLOCKCHANCE has been developing Hamburg into one of the most important locations for blockchain in Germany and Europe since 2018.
