After CDC advisers make their recommendations, the agency’s director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, will give final clearance.

Zients said that the government has enough of the Pfizer vaccine for all 28 million children in the five to 11 age group. “We are very good on the supply side,” he said during the coronavirus briefing at the White House.

The childhood vaccination campaign is expected to begin later this week and be in full swing next week.
