With Corona, travel agencies specializing in domestic travel and the hotel industry have laid a foothold for a comeback. This is because the number of private gatherings will increase to 10 right now, and restrictions on restaurant and cafe business hours will be removed.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, in the first phase of daily recovery, which will be applied from November 1, private gatherings can be held with up to 10 people (limited to the number of people who have not been vaccinated at restaurants and cafes), regardless of vaccination. Accordingly, even when using domestic travel products, reservations can be made for up to 10 people per team, and difficulties in using restaurants are eliminated. This means that there is room for an increase in the demand for group tours.

In addition, from November 9, you can use domestic travel products at a 40% discount through consumption discount coupons. In general, mid-November to December is the off-season for domestic travel, but if you add support from local governments, you can get a 50-60% discount, which may increase consumer interest. A travel industry official said, “I am concerned because the event period is short and it is the off-season, but I think we should focus on publicity based on the high discount rate. I think it will take my breath away,” he said with anticipation.

The lodging industry, including hotels, is also accelerating the acquisition of customers at the end of the year, starting with the lifting of room operation restrictions on October 18. In addition, from November, restrictions on business hours for F&B facilities were removed and the number of participants in the event increased, thereby securing related demand. At the same time, various promotions are being carried out in collaboration with credit card companies and shopping malls. Chosun Hotels & Resorts is offering special offers for 9 hotels and 16 food and beverage establishments at the Ssuk Day event. Hotel Week will be held for all hotels.

The ‘Korea Lodging Competition’, which the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization will be holding from early November in line with the With Corona, is also helping to recover travel demand with a total of 1.93 million discount coupons (20,000 won for stays under 70,000 won, 30,000 won for overstays). add About 50 domestic travel agencies and OTAs such as Yanolja, Yeogi Howe, Web Tour, and Tour Service will participate. Unlike domestic travel consumption discount coupons, unexploited discount coupons are carried over to next year and have a long promotion period. An official from the hotel industry said, “In the case of 4-5 star hotels, whether in Seoul or Busan, at least half of them were filled by foreign tourists, so it will take some time for a complete recovery. I think I have to go,” he said.
