The City Council of North Rhine-Westphalia expressly supports an initiative by Essen’s Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen (CDU), who at the weekend spoke out in favor of a district-specific survey of the numbers of unvaccinated people. This is reported by the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ, Monday edition). Kufen had told the “Rheinische Post” that it was a “huge problem” that the cities had no data on where there were still unvaccinated people. The managing director of the City Council of North Rhine-Westphalia, Helmut Dedy, confirmed this to the WAZ. “We are worried that the number of new infections is rising significantly. We are slipping more and more into a pandemic of the unvaccinated. That is why we want to reach even more unvaccinated people in the cities with mobile vaccination teams and offer them a vaccination offer. But we have no data. In which districts there are still a particularly large number of unvaccinated people, “said Dedy. With district-specific data, “anonymously of course,” you can go into the districts more specifically, says Dedy.
