The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute announced a EUR 1 million investment in AZmed, a developer of artificial intelligence-based diagnostic applications that can help address the shortage of radiologists around the world.

The investment, which is part of the latest AZmed round of 3.5 million euros, builds on the institute’s commitment to promoting globally relevant, practical solutions in five focus areas: artificial intelligence, robotics, education, healthcare and sustainability. AZmed is a medical technology company developing AI-powered diagnostic applications for medical images.

Julien Vidal, CEO of AZmed, said the company is addressing the recognized global shortage of radiologists. “Our goal is to be the trusted technical partner for any doctor analyzing a medical image anywhere in the world,” he said. “We look forward to working with the FII Institute, which will provide AZmed with strategic value through its connections to health and AI specialists in its network as well as go-to-market partners in the United States and the MENA region . “

The announcement of the AZmed investments takes place on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the FII, the most important platform of the institute, which takes place this week in Riyadh.
