Bavarian Print Prize
- Mediengruppe Pressedruck and Augsburger Allgemeine, Finanz Verlag and Gerber Print were awarded the Bavarian Print Prize 20/21
- Philipp Welte, Board Member Hubert Burda Media, received the honorary award from the Bavarian Prime Minister
- Dr. Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, CEO of the Trumpf Group, declares herself to be the influencer for the printed word in a keynote
As part of the festive award ceremony for the Bavarian Print Prize 20/21 yesterday evening at Nymphenburg Palace, this year’s four winners were honored in front of around 250 invited guests.
Bavarian Print Prize in the “Newspaper” category
Laudator Peter Kropsch, managing director of dpa Deutsche Presseagentur GmbH, presented the Nike made from Nymphenburg porcelain to the winners in the newspaper category: “Rocketeer”, submitted by Mediengruppe Pressedruck and Augsburger Allgemeine. “The publishing group Pressedruck and the Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung put the personality, the work and the visions of these people – the so-called rocketeers – in the limelight in a unique concept .
Bavarian Print Prize in the “Magazine” category
In the magazine category – in which there were a particularly large number of submissions – the prize went to the magazine “Courage” from the Finanz Verlag. Laudator Dr. Andreas Wiele, Senior Advisor, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), connected live from London, honored this award winner. Courage, according to the laudator, is a more creative and proud expression of a more modern and equal opportunity world. Wiele not only praised the courage to bring such a title onto the market in February 2020 in the middle of the beginning pandemic, but also strongly recommended men to read this exciting business magazine for women.
Bavarian Print Prize in the “Print” category
The Print category honors high-quality and outstanding print products. The jury rated the as particularly outstanding among this year’s nominees Image brochure of the company brüderl, printed by Gerber Print. Not only the jury, but also laudator Olaf Hartmann, managing partner of the Multisense Institute for Sensory Marketing, was impressed by the print product: “Gerber Print, in cooperation with Bazzoka, has achieved something special for brüderl on the whole. Something that no PDF or digital medium can do You have brought a complex, abstract service promise into a haptic form that arouses deep emotions. This does not talk about technical know-how, design competence and variety of services, it is made tangible. ”
Honorary award from the Bavarian Prime Minister
Philipp Welte, Board Member Hubert Burda Media, was awarded the honorary prize of the Bavarian Prime Minister 20/21. Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder: “Philipp Welte is a successful networker in the industry and a driver of digital transformation. He fights courageously for quality journalism and our democratic values.”
Leibinger-Kammüller: influencer for the printed word
Dr. Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, CEO of the Trumpf Group, impressed the guests with her dedicated and personal keynote at the opening of the award ceremony. She reinforced the value and relevance of printed media in the age of digitization and declared herself an ally: “If you would like me to join your ranks as an ally in the fight for a world with strong newspapers and magazines, if you would like me even want to name an “influencer” for the printed word – I would love to accept this title! ”
The jury of the Bavarian Print Prize 2021, chaired by Dr. Rudolf Thiemann, Liborius Publishing Group and President of the Association of German Magazine Publishers e. V., highlighted the diversity of the around 100 exceptionally high-quality and convincing submissions as part of the decision-making process. The expert jury also includes Manuela Kampp-Wirtz, Chief Publishing Officer, BurdaVerlag, Werner Katzengruber, Managing Director, Katzengruber Development Group GmbH, Florian Kohler, Owner, Gmund Papier, Gudrun Kreutner, Member of the Management and Head of Corporate Communication, Wort & Bild Verlag Konradshöhe GmbH & Co. About the Bavarian Print Prize
The award has recognized outstanding achievements in the print industry since 2000. The Bavarian Prime Minister also awards an honorary prize to an outstanding personality who has made an exemplary contribution to Bavaria as a printing location. The Bavarian Print Prize is awarded every two years by the Association of Bayerischer Zeitungsverleger e. V. (VBZV), the Association of Magazine Publishers in Bavaria (VZB) and the Association of Printing and Media Bavaria e. V. (VDMB) advertised nationwide. With it, the Bavarian print associations, as organizers in cooperation with the Free State of Bavaria, honor top achievements in the print sector. In addition to the film, book and television award, it is one of the four Bavarian State Media Awards.
