Coach has to go: FC Barcelona separates from Koeman

As of: 10/28/2021 9:26 a.m.

After losing to Real Madrid in the Clasico, FC Barcelona experienced the next bitter bankruptcy – and separated from coach Ronald Koeman after the game. The club announced this shortly after midnight on Thursday. Koeman will say goodbye to the team on Thursday. Barça signed Koeman in the summer of 2020 and gave him a two-year deal at the time. The 58-year-old was previously the national coach of the Netherlands.

The badly ailing Catalans lost 1-0 at Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday evening (27.10.2021). The newcomer from the suburbs of Madrid managed to win again after 14 defeats in a row against Barca.

After the 1: 2 bankruptcy last weekend at Camp Nou against Real Madrid, FC Barcelona missed the chance to rehabilitate – and instead slid deeper into the crisis.

Falcao shocks Barca, Depay awards penalties

Rayo Vallecano brought Barca’s game to a standstill with consistent pressing – and struck effectively on a counterattack: veteran Radamel Falcao used one of the Catalans’ many ball losses in the build-up game, danced Gerard Piqué and left goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen no chance (30th minute ).

Memphis Depay made Barca’s horror evening complete, he missed the big chance to equalize and failed with a foul penalty to keeper Stole Dimitrievski (71.).

Barca threaten to slide further

Barca remain at 15 points and threaten to slide further in the table. Newcomer Rayo Vallecano (19 points) climbed up to two points in the Champions League with the win.

Real Madrid just goalless against Osasuna

Real Madrid had to settle for a 0-0 win against CA Osasuna three days after winning the Clasico. The “Royal” took over the lead again with the point, but with Sevilla FC, Betis Sevilla and Real Sociedad San Sebastian they have three pursuers with 21 points behind them. Osasuna are sixth, just two points behind.

After about an hour, Real had bad luck with a crossbar hit by Karim Benzema. However, Osasuna had also hit the aluminum beforehand.
