The State Criminal Police Office of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Essen Customs Investigation Office searched almost 50 properties in North Rhine-Westphalia in a major raid on suspicion of money laundering.
It is about the suspicion of money laundering in particularly serious cases: The State Criminal Police Office of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Customs Investigation Office Essen investigate on behalf of the public prosecutor’s office Cologne against 46 accused. Arrest warrants are to be carried out against three people, and special police units are also deployed.
Together with officers from the police headquarters Düsseldorf and the district police authority Mettmann 49 residential and business premises as well as warehouses have been searched since Wednesday morning. According to initial information, premises in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bochum, Wuppertal, Ratingen and Essen were searched.
A total of around 250 officers are on duty to secure evidence in proceedings against the accused. The Cologne public prosecutor’s office wants to comment on possible results of the searches during the day.
