As part of a program focus, the ZDF is dedicated to the topic #MeToo. The focus is on two free TV premieres that ZDF will be presenting on Monday, November 1, 2021: the US feature film “Bombshell – The End of Silence” by Jay Roach with Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie at 10:15 p.m., and the British documentary “Inviolable – The Harvey Weinstein Case” by Ursula Macfarlane at 11:55 p.m.

“Bombshell – The End of Silence” shows how in 2016, before the Weinstein scandal, the head of Fox News, Roger Ailes, was charged with sexual harassment and finally sacked by Fox owner Rupert Murdoch.

The British documentary “Inviolable – The Harvey Weinstein Case” by Ursula Macfarlane describes the story of the scandal surrounding the successful US producer, but also gives a shocking impression of the climate in which powerful people like Harvey Weinstein could allow themselves to be sexually assaulted without fear of sanctions.

Documentary is the “Rise and Fall of Roger Ailes” on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, 1.05 a.m., on ZDFinfo in the American documentary “Sex, Trump & Fox News” illuminated. The film is available in the ZDFmediathek until April 2022.

At the end of the #MeToo focus, ZDF will show the US feature film on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at 1.30 a.m. “Accused” from 1988 by director Jonathan Kaplan – one of the first major Hollywood films to deal with the subject of rape.
