The fuel prices in Germany are reaching new heights: As the ADAC analysis shows, the price for the liter of Super E10 climbed by 0.4 cents within a week to 1.675 euros, exceeding all daily average prices for nine years. At that time, the price for Super E10 was at its peak at 1.709 euros per liter. The diesel price has also risen again compared to the previous week: The price of diesel fuel is 1.564 euros per liter – 0.4 cents more than a week ago.
As a result, the price increase at petrol stations has slowed down significantly from a high level, which is also reflected in the current situation on the crude oil market and the dollar exchange rate.
In view of the high price level, drivers should be careful to find gas stations that are as inexpensive as possible before refueling. Studies by the ADAC show that petrol and diesel are usually cheapest between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. and between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. If you take this rule of thumb into account and take advantage of the price differences between the different times of the day and the providers, you can always save a few euros when refueling. There are also considerable price differences between the individual providers that consumers should take advantage of.
