Dame Graça Machel is the former First Lady of Mozambique and South Africa, Chair of the Graça Machel Trust, humanitarian worker and advocate for the rights of women and children. Dame Machel is the co-founder and vice-chair of The Elders, an independent group of world leaders who work together for peace, justice and human rights.

Ms. Gaynor works tirelessly with a variety of charities, with a particular focus on helping people overcome illness and grief and regain control of their lives after witnessing a national tragedy. “I Will Survive” has become an emotional anthem that has been welcomed by survivors and fans around the world.

The FII Institute for Humanity Award reflects the Institute’s “Impact on Humanity” agenda and shows how to create a better, more sustainable future for humanity.
