Consumption discount coupons, including travel and accommodation discounts, will resume from early November. It has been a year since the social distancing was suspended at the end of November last year by raising the social distance to the second stage.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on October 26 that it will resume use of consumption discount coupons in 7 areas of accommodation, travel, performances, exhibitions, movies, indoor sports facilities, and professional sports from November in line with the transition to with Corona (step-by-step recovery).

Accommodation discount coupons will be applied first to some areas on November 1, and from the 9th, the area will be expanded nationwide. About 50 domestic online travel agencies (OTAs) issue discount coupons, and you can get a discount of 20,000 won for stays under 70,000 won and 30,000 won for stays over 70,000 won. In particular, in cooperation with some local governments to revitalize local tourism, discount coupons (70,000 copies in total) that provide a discount of 50,000 won for stays exceeding 70,000 won are also planned to be distributed. “We plan to issue a total of 1.93 million discount coupons,” said an official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
