▷ WDR aktuell: special broadcast on the prime ministerial election in North Rhine-Westphalia

On Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, the WDR reported live in a WDR current special broadcast about the election of the prime minister in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1 p.m. onwards, WDR television will provide all the facts and developments relating to the election in the Düsseldorf state parliament.

In the WDR studio, moderator Liz Shoo analyzes the election process together with political scientist Prof. Andreas Blätte from the University of Duisburg-Essen. WDR regional policy boss Jochen Trum comments on the events live from the Düsseldorf plenary hall. Reporter Henrik Hübschen also spoke to numerous guests on site about the situation in the country and the challenges for the new Prime Minister.

The WDR radio reports in articles and correspondent discussions on all waves. In the network, the choice is transmitted to wdr.de. Background information on the government balance sheet by Armin Laschet and portraits by Hendrik Wüst complete the reporting.

So far, only the country’s transport minister, Hendrik Wüst (CDU), has been elected. The coalition of CDU and FDP has agreed to succeed Armin Laschet (CDU).

Before the election of the new Prime Minister, the previous incumbent Armin Laschet will be adopted. He is moving to the German Bundestag as a member of the Bundestag and has already resigned from his government office in Düsseldorf.
