OLIVE OILS FROM SPAIN
Hamburg, Germany, Jan. 23 / PRNewswire /)
The new three-year campaign “Olive Oil World Tour” is coming to Germany. An initiative of the Spanish Olive Oil Association and the European Union to bring German consumers closer to olive oil so that they can discover its culinary properties, its versatility and its various uses.
This campaign began in February 2018 and has already been carried out jointly in nine countries on three continents: Europe, Asia and the US, and reached an estimated 3.8 billion views worldwide. Now it’s coming to Germany to get in touch with German consumers who are interested in gastronomy and a healthy lifestyle.
Germany is one of the largest consumers of olive oil in Europe after the producing countries, although per capita consumption is still very low. Reason enough to take a closer look at the many facets of this food.
“Europe, and above all Spain, is a world leader in the quality, production and marketing of olive oil. However, the consumption of olive oil in Germany is very low, around 750 ml of olive oil per person per year. To improve these numbers, we will show German consumers how to incorporate these foods into their kitchen and enjoy a healthier lifestyle “, says Teresa Perez, manager of olive oils from Spain.
With this in mind, the Olive Oil World Tour will pursue a strategy that includes creating a website, social profiles and constant contact with local media and influencers, as well as creating adventure initiatives at highly frequented points in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. These measures aim to make European olive oil a leading product in the sector in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the European Union’s agricultural sector.
The campaign lands this week at the Eat & Style fair in Hamburg after the official presentation for the media, supported by major German users: the chef Thomas Behrens, the nutritionist Katrin Kleinesper and the olive oil expert Kerstin Barduhn.
