The Golden Panda Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Competition 2021 in Chengdu is celebrating its final

On October 21, the final of the “Golden Panda Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Competition” 2021 took place in the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone. The competition is hosted by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and run by the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone.

As one of the series of events of the Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair 2021, the Golden Panda Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Competition this year focuses on the topic of “Driving innovation in the high-tech industry”. A group of outstanding teams and companies from all over the world take part in the competition, which not only contribute to improvements in the industry, but are also active in the field of core technologies. In addition, it should support excellent teams and innovative sci-tech companies to settle in the hi-tech zone.

Seven competition areas have been established – in Silicon Valley, Paris, Seoul, Beijing, Shenzhen, Wuhan and Chengdu – and more than 2,000 entries have been received for the competition, a new record.

The competition is divided into four phases: registration of the projects, pre-competition and online competition, re-evaluation of the projects and the final. The 46 projects selected as finalists come from the three areas of technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), BT biotechnology and X future technology.

As the first national independent innovation demonstration zone in West China, Chengdu Hi-tech Zone focuses on promoting local world-class businesses. She has introduced diverse strategies such as talent development, intellectual property rights and entrepreneurial incubation in order to promote innovation-oriented and high-quality development and to promote selected innovative companies.

Currently, the Chengdu Hi-tech Zone encompasses a total of more than 700,000 talents of various kinds with 45 national innovation platforms, 17 Chinese incubators, 23,919 valid invention patents (10,757 high value invention patents) and 51 listed companies.
