TBD Media Group is proud to announce that its hard-working production manager, Karin Laske, will be the focus of an exciting new documentary in which it takes on the challenge of cycling the UK from country? S End to John o? Cross Groats.

Karin is an avid cyclist and nature lover. In a series of interview questions, she will share her history and passion for cycling, why she is committed to this endeavor and why it means so much to her. The past 18 months have been an exercise in isolation as people around the world have collectively isolated themselves in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now that she can go outside again, Karin is determined not to miss a moment of freedom. Given that sustainability and climate change are major issues in the modern world, the need for a significant and immediate reduction in the global carbon footprint has never been greater. Karin hopes that her trip by bike, the most climate-friendly means of travel, will help to raise awareness of the possibilities of sustainable long-distance travel.

The dedicated filmmakers at TBD Media Group will employ cutting-edge documentary film techniques to create an open and personal account of Karin’s journey and provide clear insight into the challenges she faces and how she will overcome them. The film will also feature interviews with professional cyclists and, through both their reports and insights from Karin herself, their perspective on concepts of empowerment, inspiration and gender equality as set out in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are to show.

The film and Karin’s journey are sponsored by cycling apparel company MAAP and food manufacturer Huel. MAAP provides Karin’s clothing and protective gear for the trip, while Huel contributes a number of his signature foods. London-based bike dealer Goldhawk provides Karin with a spare wheel for her success.

Karin herself adds: “It’s all about the challenge. I want to be able to look back on this trip and know that I made it. I’ve already cycled from London via Paris to Germany – not quite as far as here – so this is the next challenge, which I absolutely want to master; and if I can do something good or inspire me, all the better. “
