Auburn Hills, Mich. (ots/PRNewswire)

Henniges Automotive GmbH & Co. KG today filed for insolvency for its production facilities and technical offices with the competent bankruptcy court. The locations are in the greater Rehburg area in Germany.

The global pandemic and the shortage of semiconductor chips have contributed significantly to the decline in sales. The increased costs for raw materials also meant that the company was unable to continue operations at these locations.

The German court ordered Dr. jur. Rainer Eckert from the law firm Eckert Rechtsanwälte as preliminary insolvency administrator.

Henniges Automotive is a global provider of automotive sealing and anti-vibration solutions and has offices in America, Europe and Asia. The remaining Henniges Automotive branches are not affected by the bankruptcy and will continue to operate.
