Im July are 1.3 million foreign vacationers Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands. That is 124 percent more than the same month last year, when the numbers fell particularly sharply due to the Corona crisis, as the Frontur survey by the Spanish statistical institute (INE) on Wednesday (September 1st) shows. However, the number is well below the values from the time before the pandemic: In July 2019, 2.3 million foreign tourists were counted in the Balearic Islands.
In the first seven months of the year it was almost 2.6 million foreign visitors on the islands, which corresponds to an increase of 152 percent compared to the same period last year. Here, too, a clear difference to pre-Corona times: In the first seven months of 2019, 7.9 foreign visitors were counted.
Most of the vacationers came from Germany: Im July became 385,000 German vacationers counted in the Balearic Islands. They followed in second place British with a value of 294,000. / ff
